Exercise Boosts Academic Performance in Children

A recent study conducted by a group of researchers from the University of Montreal in Canada showed that regular sports activities significantly help children improve their academic performance. The research indicates that sports activities, especially in organized team sports, can stimulate children and teenagers to attend school and achieve better results.

According to the provided data, sports activities such as soccer or artistic gymnastics have a long-term impact on academic performance. Researchers compared data on physical training from 2800 children aged 12 years with their academic results over the past years. The results showed that boys engaged in sports regularly have a likelihood of receiving an attestation on average education by the age of twenty increased by approximately 15%.

The study also noted that girls involved in organized types of sports improved their academic results on average by 8% overall and by 23% in artistic gymnastics participation. Sports activities under recommended training are associated with increased chances of successful education for both boys and girls.

The findings indicate that engaging in sports allows children to develop key skills in various areas, such as leadership, collective behavior, and the ability to concentrate for extended periods, all of which are essential skills that can be applied in the educational field.
