Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded to threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, ensuring that if the U.S. imposes tariffs on March 4, Canada will respond 'immediately and strongly.' Trudeau emphasized that the current goal of the Canadian government is to avoid these tariffs related to fentanyl and migrants at the border.

'Canada is not the source of problems for the U.S.,' said Trudeau, noting that less than 0.1% of fentanyl circulating in the United States comes from Canada. However, he warned that they will respond decisively if unjustified tariffs are imposed.

In response to Trump's statements about the implementation of tariffs on Mexico and Canada if the fentanyl issue is not controlled, a Canadian delegation led by the Ministers of Public Safety and Immigration is in Washington trying to prevent this measure.

Trudeau called the request from Canada's New Democratic Party to prevent Trump's presence at the G7 Summit in June 'irresponsible,' citing criminal convictions in the U.S. and annexation threats. The NDP leader justified his request based on these arguments.

In a virtual G7 meeting that included Donald Trump, Trudeau stated that the group is united in its goal to end the 'unjust war' caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He highlighted the G7's unity in the need to end this conflict and seek a peaceful future for Ukraine.
