
Mark Rubio will be the first representative of the new American administration to visit Canada after Donald Trump's return to the White House. U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio will meet with Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly on Thursday in Quebec, amidst the ongoing trade war between the countries, as part of participating in the "Big Summit". The discussions will focus on current conditions regarding the achievement of a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Ministers will hold bilateral talks on Thursday at 8:00 AM local time before a joint photo session with foreign ministers from the G7 countries, which also include representatives from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Japan. The U.S. President has repeatedly expressed his desire to include Canada in new trade agreements.
