The film "Mortal Nature" by Canadian director Chris Nesh was awarded at the past Grand Prix at the fantastic film festival on Tuesday. The premiere took place at the Géroardmer festival in the French region of Eastern Vosges. The film tells the story of a serial killer who rises from the grave to reclaim the stolen valuable artwork gifted to him by his mother. The victims become young people who set off for a getaway in the wild location of Ontario. Jury of the 32nd festival, headed by French-Indian actress Vimalay Bons, approved the horror film Nesh. The director was inspired by the works of such cinematographers as Gas Van Sent and Terrence Malick, using long static shots without original music. Canada was strongly represented at the festival, where another award was shared by the films "Roumerz" by Canadian directors Guy Meddine and Ivan and "Exam" by South Korean Chan Chai Hyun.
