Buenos Aires, December 8 (NA) – Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau decided to put an end to speculation and officially confirmed their relationship by sharing a series of photos on social media taken during the singer's stay in Japan, where she continues her "Lifetimes Tour".
According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), after months of rumors, secret meetings, and an unexpected diplomatic visit, both posted photos and videos on Instagram that clearly show the emotional bond they have maintained since mid-year.
The post, shared over the weekend, is accompanied by the phrase: "Days in Tokyo during the tour and something more." The material includes a selfie where they appear very close under the autumn light and a video where they enjoy a dinner while exchanging knowing glances.
This "digital debut" comes after a prolonged attempt to keep the relationship away from the media. Perry responded to Trudeau's post with: "I'm happy to maintain this friendship this way." Trudeau replied cordially: "It was a pleasure to see you, Katy, and we are delighted to have been able to share that moment with you and Yuko."
During a break in her tour, the couple met with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, at a diplomatic meeting on December 3, which surprised Perry's followers. Kishida shared the meeting on X, writing: "Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came to Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch."
Trudeau had also recently gone through a divorce: his split from Sophie Grégoire was confirmed in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. During the summer, they were seen together on several occasions, especially as the singer toured various countries. "They have a natural chemistry," a People source said. "They were photographed holding hands, smiling, and not trying to hide."
The first suspicions arose after they were seen dining together in Montreal. In September, close sources claimed that both were trying to keep the relationship as discreet as possible, though they acknowledged they were "very involved with each other."
The couple reappeared publicly in October to celebrate Perry's 41st birthday at a Crazy Horse cabaret show. At that time, Perry was going through her recent separation from Orlando Bloom, which occurred in June, with whom she shares custody of their five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
