Air Accident in Toronto: Delta Plane Overturned

A Delta Airlines plane overturned at Toronto Airport, Canada, on Monday, February 17, leaving a total of 17 injured, three of them in serious condition. The aircraft was coming from Minneapolis and, upon landing, encountered poor weather conditions, including strong gusts of wind, which are suspected to have caused the accident.

A video shared by a passenger shows the moment when crew members evacuate passengers through the emergency exits, while the plane remains overturned on the runway. Meanwhile, the tower controller and medical helicopter pilots closely monitored the situation to coordinate the necessary assistance.

The airport confirmed the incident involving the Delta flight and reported that 76 passengers and four crew members were safe. The evacuation was carried out quickly and without fatalities, thanks to the prompt response of emergency teams who prevented a possible fire by spraying water on the aircraft.

Adverse weather conditions, with winds and snow, complicated the situation at Toronto Airport. Despite the complications, emergency services managed to transport the injured to different hospitals for urgent medical attention. The runways will remain closed during the investigation to determine the exact causes of the aircraft's overturn.

Deborah Flint, CEO of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority, expressed gratitude that no loss of life occurred in the accident and highlighted the efficient coordination and response of the emergency teams. Despite the rarity of such incidents, airport authorities are committed to clarifying what happened and ensuring the safety of flights in the region.
