Canadian Foreign Minister Raises Alarm on Gaza Crisis

Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly expressed deep concern about the "catastrophic" humanitarian conditions in the Gaza sector and warned about the "threatening levels of unlivability."

Joly emphasized the need to ensure humanitarian access and the transportation of humanitarian aid, as well as improve conditions for the civilian population in the region. Canada called on all parties to exercise restraint, refrain from escalation, and work towards a politically negotiated settlement of the conflict.

"North America firmly supports the Organization of American States and other international partners in improving conditions in the Gaza area and alleviating the suffering of the local population," Joly added.
